Rector’s Message

This year, National English School completes 25 years of unwavering commitment towards excellence in education. We believe true education goes beyond textbooks; it instils values, ignites curiosity, and empowers every learner to realise their full potential. This ethos is aptly reflected in our motto, ‘Dare to Know’, which represents the spirit of inquiry, independent thinking, and the fearless pursuit of knowledge. Over the past quarter-century, we have steadfastly pursued our mission to inspire young minds, foster innovation, and empower individuals to meaningfully contribute to society, creating a legacy of transformative learning.

The V.I.P. Road branch of National English School began at the dawn of the new millennium, welcoming a small yet eager group of learners. From these humble beginnings in the year 2000, the school has flourished into a vibrant institution with over two thousand learners. A decade later, our vision expanded with the establishment of the Rajarhat campus. Set amidst a sprawling landscape, this dream project was conceived with the objective of seamlessly blending academic excellence with an environment that fosters creativity and innovation. Similarly, NES Juniors was established at Deshbandhu Nagar as a nurturing foundation for young children—a place where curiosity thrives, and potential is carefully cultivated.

Recognising the pivotal role of educators in shaping the next generation, we founded the National College of Education in 2017. This institution equips aspiring teachers with the knowledge, skills, and integrity required to lead with purpose and passion. Looking ahead, our upcoming project NES World School is set to redefine modern education. With its foundations already laid, it will offer a cutting-edge curriculum rooted in application-based learning, enhanced by advanced digital tools and technology. This initiative reflects our commitment to innovation, ensuring students are prepared to navigate an ever-evolving global landscape.

Our journey has been one of sustained achievement and excellence. Over the years, we have consistently ranked among the region’s top schools in Board Examinations, driven by the dedication of our students and faculty. Beyond academics, our learners have excelled in diverse arenas—earning accolades in literature, co-curricular activities, and sports. A particularly proud moment came when National English School was named among the top twelve finalists in the grand finale of the National Quiz Competition commemorating 25 years of the Kargil War. Competing against thirty thousand schools nationwide, our students showcased exceptional intellectual prowess and a profound sense of patriotism by finishing as finalists in this prestigious event organised by the Indian Army.

As we step into our Silver Jubilee year, it stands as a testament to visionary leadership, meticulous planning, and the unwavering dedication of our staff. Even during the pandemic, we remained resolute in our mission to ensure uninterrupted learning. Instead of using unsecured online meeting platforms, we assigned enterprise-grade secured Microsoft IDs to all students and staff, enabling them to join online classes, share notes, and interact through Teams. Much like classroom teaching, after each topic, students were given assignments using the integrated Microsoft Forms, which teachers corrected and provided real-time feedback.

As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this journey. I would like to highlight the invaluable support of parents, well-wishers, and the wider community, whose trust in our mission has been integral to our success. Together, we have demonstrated that education is not merely preparation for life but life itself—a transformative force that builds character, fosters empathy, and empowers individuals to leave an indelible mark on the world. With renewed resolve, we embark on our next chapter, committed to shaping generations of responsible, innovative, and visionary citizens.
